- This is a photograph I took on the 25th of December 2010.
It is a 148 second long exposure of the Finnieston crane in Glasgow, reflecting on a perfectly calm and crystal clear River Clyde.
I used a 10 stop ND filter. ISO 100 and an aperture of f16 to allow this two and a half minute exposure.
There was quite a bit of low cloud with a misty atmosphere and colour in the sky too as it was just approaching Sunset. This is when I thought the conditions were ideal for a long exposure, and so I decided to set a long shutter speed to smooth out the cloud and bring out the colour in the sky for this dreamy atmospheric look to the image. Not long after I took this shot it started to snow quite heavily.
